3. ‘Black Panther’ star Chadwick Boseman dies at age 43- On August 28, beloved actor Chadwick Boseman passed away from colon cancer. The legendary actor and hero starred in several blockbuster films including: “42”, “Marshall”, and his best known role as T’Challa in Marvel’s “Black Panther”. Boseman’s role in Black Panther allowed him to represent a powerful and iconic position for people as a hero onscreen, and his legendary four year battle against cancer will forever embody his persevering spirit and embrace his memory as a real-life superhero too. Przewalski's horse: Cloned colt could help preserve this endangered animal- In a Texas veterinary clinic, the first ever successful cloning of the Przewalski's horse was born on August 6 to a surrogate mother. With this news released on September 4, zoologists have been ecstatic that this last wild horse species can be revived rather than extinct. For the last forty years, scientists have said that while the horse was officially extinct in the wild, the remaining members of the species have been under close observation and care in zoos. Hopefully, this exciting development will expand the opportunity for the rescue of endangered species. (CNN- National News)
5. Arkansas state police investigating Lewisville homicide- Kira Bradley, age 45, was found dead in a bedroom in Lewisville. After contacting Arkansas State Police, investigations of the homicide led to two suspects being placed into custody. Although the names of the suspects have not been released publicly, their identities have been released as a male from El Dorado and a female from Lewisville. Bradley’s body will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory where more information will be discovered after the autopsy. Meanwhile, the two suspects will be under trial as a Lafayette attorney determines whether criminal charges will be pressed against them. (Magnolia Reporter- State News)

Southern Arkansas University honors staff for years of service- To honor the professional and support staff of Southern Arkansas University, president Dr. Trey Berry recognized members through a virtual meeting. Eunice Walker and Phyllis Austin received the ‘Mary Anna King Whitehead Support Staff Excellence Award’, which is the highest honors given to the Souther Arkansas staff each year, to appreciate workers with exceptional worth ethic and professionalism. 7. Moria migrants tear-gassed by Greek police in protest over new camp- Thousands of migrants were left homeless after Greek police burned down their camp and shot tear gas at the protesting migrants. The overcrowded Moria camp held over 13,000 migrants who were desperate to leave the island. After the siege, about 200 migrants and their families have been left sleeping on roads and in fields after escaping their burning camp. A new camp, Kara Tepe, has been set up for migrants to provide shelter and safety. (BBC News- International News)
8. Trending on Twitter: #BoycottMulan- Since the release of Disney’s live action “Mulan”, many people have put Disney under fire for shooting scenes of the movie in Xinjiang province, where more than a million Uighurs have been detained in internment camps. This information has led to millions boycotting the film and criticizing the Walt Disney Company for their failure to acknowledge the severity of the situation in Xinjiang. (Twitter)
9. Georgia Runner Pleads Guilty, Punished In TV Reporter Butt Slap Case- During a race in Georgia in 2019, a runner smacked a reporter on the butt while airing a segment on live TV. A year later, Thomas Callaway pled guilty to sexual battery and will now be facing a year of probation along with 200 hours of required community service and over $1000 in fees as well. Dakotas lead US in virus growth as both reject mask rules- COVID-19 infections in both South and North Dakota are accelerating the growth rate in the US, by surpassing other state’s for the past two weeks. Citizens have openly opposed mask requirements and the infection rate has increased by the reopening of schools and businesses. As of right now, South Dakota holds the highest positivity rates in the US, with signs that there are more cases than the tests are catching. (Associated Press- National News)
11. Salado Fire Department responds to chemical plant fire Thursday- When a chemical plant in Walburg, Texas caught on fire, firefighters from Salado were sent to aid in the cleanup alongside Tanker Operations. (KCEN News- Local News)
12. Istanbul limits size of weddings, parties as virus spreads- The governor of Istanbul has recently banned weddings, parties, and other regular social events from hosting through boating companies. Alongside this ban, new restrictions on social events such as festivals have been put into place. These new bans are results of increased cases of COVID-19 in Turkey and will limit the amount of people at social settings. (ABC News- International News)

Trevor Lawrence details engagement to Marissa Mowry on GameDay- After recently celebrating their four year anniversary, Trevor Lawrence (Clemson quarterback) proposed to his long-time girlfriend, Marissa Mowry in the middle of Memorial Stadium. Although Lawrence realizes certain people may think the location for the proposal is clichė, he admits that Clemson holds a special place in both of their hearts, and majorly contributed to their story. 14. ‘Parks And Recreation’ Stars To Reunite For Wisconsin Democratic Party Fundraiser- The stars from the hit show, “Parks and Rec”, will meet up to raise money for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. The reunion will consist of Amy Poehler, Adam Scott, and Aubrey Plaza among others to help raise money and attendance for this online event. This event will consist of a “Parks and Rec” Q & A, and even host special guests for one time only. (Deadline News- Entertainment News)
15. Belgian city finds its former mayor's heart in a fountain- After years of rumors and urban myths, the Belgian city of Verviers former mayor’s heart was found underneath a fountain. Pierre David’s heart was discovered in an ethanol-filled jar when construction workers discovered a small box while renovating the fountain. The fountain was originally built in Pierre’s honor, and they preserved his heart in the middle of his town, so that his legacy will always be remembered. (Reuters News- Weird News)
